Mr. Ashwini Kumar, CEO, Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP), flagged off a Walk held to commemorate the Centenary of Champaran Movement and  establishment of Sabarmati Ashram at Civic Centre on 10th April. A large number of school students of RSP Schools and Cadets of SAIL Hockey Academy participated in the walk. They displayed colourful placards and banners commemorating the Centenary of Champaran Movement and establishment of Sabarmati Ashram, Self Reliance through Steel and the Digidhan Movement.
Mr. Ashwini Kumar, Dr. A.K. Singh, Director in charge (M&HS), Mr. PK. Pradhan, ED (P&A),  Mr. Subhendra Das, ED (Works), Mr. Paramananda Sahoo, ED (MM), Mr. R. Agarwal, ED (Projects), several General Managers, Heads of Department, other senior officers of the plant and teachers also participated along with the students of schools and the cadets of SAIL Hockey Academy in the walk which commenced from Civic Centre and after touching Bhanja Bhawan returned to the auditorium.
Earlier, the dignitaries paid floral tributes to  Mahatma Gandhi, the  Father of the Nation at his bust at the Civic Centre. After the completion of the walk, the dignitaries and others witnessed two skits on the theme of cashless transactions. The students of Nurses Training Institute presented the skit in Hindi while the artistes of Parichay presented the skit in Odia. Both skits, which were informative, were  appreciated  by the discerning  audience.
Mr. N.K. Samantaray, GM(TA) proposed a formal Vote of Thanks at the end.
